What is the goal of this process?

The goal of this process is to develop a profound understanding among participants that goes beyond the level of language. A unique experiential formation of deep connection and mutual empathy is reached.

Empathy is emotional intelligence

The ability to understand and read others has been valued among humans from the beginning of time because it is vital for our survival. We now call it emotional intelligence and there are many attempt to teach these skills in schools. In an effort to share, and unify our points of view we hold meetings, discussions, presentations, exchange more words, further describing, convincing, persuading and clarifying. The limitation of verbal communication is that each of us imagines different ideas while hearing the same words. Those mental patterns are ingrained deep in our psyche, and that limitation leads each of us to our individual way of thinking, thus making us uniquely different.

Why Empathy is important in teamwork

Empathy is a key element to successful teamwork. It is the foundation for immersing yourself in another’s mindset and experience and is a great way to uncover deep needs and insights. Cultivating empathy has innumerable benefits: It is a therapeutic and liberating experience to be drawn outside of ourselves and into the world of another. This is what attracts us to film and any form of fiction. It is an opportunity to enter the world of another, whose minds are so different from our own. Without the understanding of what others see, feel, and experience, attainment of team goals is insurmountable.

Why “The Sky Method” works

This method allows for all personality types to equally express their full potential. This process allows you to shift your whole way of thinking. This paradigm shift is the only way to change ones behavior and participation in the group. While participating in the process, you will train yourself to let go of preconceptions and accept other’s viewpoints and see the world through their eyes. It is a continued cycle between empathy and analysis. Such fluidity has a profound effect on how a person attacks problems in general. Participants find themselves entertaining other possibilities, taking alternative perspectives. This is the essence of creative thinking!

Finally, this experience alters how one sees their own potential, making them aware of higher, ideal selves within that they want to bring forward. We experience our best selves when we get out of our own heads! We also have a desire to connect deeply with other people, to contribute to collective work and create successfully together.

What is possible in a creative state?

Moreover, in a creative state of full self-expression, painting together on shared canvas, the vision of individual participants will merge without resistance and become strong in its unity. The space of imagination is limitless, noncompetitive, and inclusive for all. While in a creative state together as a group of individuals, participants are able to focus on contributing to the project, thus making it their own, creating a new reality to manifest their collective vision, bringing it to life.
